Friends! Several months have passed since our last session of Wake to Words and Brew Some Coffee. My dear friend Tim asked me the other day if I was done doing it, as he would stop checking if that were the case. That's when I realized that I had entered a lapse of silence that I didn't want to signal an end to our poetry gatherings.
So, thanks to Tim for lighting the candle and holding it close to my elbow. And thanks to you, listeners, for checking back in and finding me again. That is often the way of life, isn't it? Welcome to all of us. I hope that you find something in today's poems to take with you in the coming days.
Cheers,
Erin

Please excuse the background hum during the recording; my usual computer is broken and my desktop refuses to record quietly or with any manners whatsoever.
I'll have a special Thanksgiving Wake to Words and Brew Some Coffee, so check back for more poems this coming Thursday.

Hi Friends! It has been a hot minute, it feels like, since we gathered for poetry. Here is the most recent reading. Please note that my usual computer is sick, so I'm using my desktop to record; it has a hum that would drive a sloth berserk, eventually (I imagine sloths as very peaceful, high-tolerance creatures). So, I apologize for that sound. I hope you're all well. There will be poetry this Sunday.

We've returned to May, or it to us. Thanks for joining me for another session of poems.

Here's this week's session of good poems by other people. Welcome to March!
Poems read:
We have reached the last Sunday of February, and while that makes calendar sense, the snow coming down outside my window makes less mental sense when the longing for Spring has taken to blooming in the hope muscle.
Here are this week's poems:

By Wendell Berry:
Every Sunday we share coffee, and I read good poems by other people. I'm glad for that. Somehow, we've reached the last Sunday in January with poems while others compete to sell the most cars by the end of the month, or to kill the most people in a moment, or to kick off the year by murdering a man on his way from here to there.
I hope you had a week. I hope we have another.
Amidst it all, preschoolers frown in concentration as they hum the written sounds of their language, cats curl into their beds after breakfast, and mothers try to plan around war. Wherever you may be this week, in this strange world, here are a few poems for you.
